When I was at my mom’s house this past weekend, she showed me a neat new way to decorate Easter eggs. Since Easter is only in a few short weeks, I thought I would share this Easter egg coloring tutorial with you so that you can have fun creating 3D shattered effect eggs with your children!
Step 1: Collect empty eggs shells from the meals you cook and wash them with soap, water and then vinegar.
Step 2: Dye the empty egg shells a variety of colors. You can drop the whole shell into the coloring, as the inside of the shell need to be fully colored as well.
Step 3: Crush the colored empty egg shells into small pieces. These pieces can be as big or small as you like.
Step 4: Hard boil some eggs and leave them white or color them according to your preference. For the sake of this tutorial, we did one colored egg and one egg left white.
Step 5: Apply a thin layer of craft glue to the entire outside surface of the hard boiled eggs and roll into the crushed egg shells. Make sure to roll the eggs around in the shells to coat all sides.
Step 6: Let the glue dry and harden. The finished product is a 3D shattered Easter egg!
