4 US Cities You Should Tour Once in Your Lifetime

This is the BEST chicken salad recipe. It could not be easier or more delicious. With chicken, cranberries, apples, and pecans, it’s wonderful on its own or as a sandwich!

I want to be that person who invented egg salad and chicken salad. I mean, that person deserves a gold medal. Yummy, versatile, classic. How do you make yours?

Even though this particular chicken salad has been floating around for ages, I was only introduced to it a few years ago by my friend, Kary.

We were hanging out at her house and she made it for lunch one day. I was practically mesmerized by all the ingredients she was mixing together. It all seemed so odd…and yet wonderful. I knew immediately how much I would love it.

  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons dried cranberries
  • 3 tablespoons chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup diced Granny Smith apple
  • 10 ounce (1 can) white chunk chicken breast, drained, broken up into pieces
  • baby spinach leaves , optional
  • 4 croissants or soft dinner rolls , optional

  • In a medium bowl, mix together the mayo, yogurt, mustard, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning, if necessary. Gently fold in the cranberries, pecans, apple, and chicken.
  • Eat as is or place on sliced croissants with some baby spinach or lettuce.

Tourism isn’t dead, my friends. What is dead? Just sitting on your couch and wishing you went out and explored these rich U.S. cities only a couple thousand miles away from each other.

Travel not only enriches your life but it exposes you to new people, makes you a more well-rounded person, and helps you understand your surroundings better. Add a little bit of sightseeing to that, and you’ve got yourself a winning combination. Now, where exactly are the best places to tour and discover new things? Let’s look at the compiled list below for some fresh ideas.

  1. San Francisco, California

There is no shortage of tourist attractions in famous San Francisco. Everything from the Golden Gate Bridge to Twin Peaks, and even Fisherman’s Wharf are available for exploration with your friends or family.

If you want to get a little historic you can even ride the cable cars that serve as tour buses for newcomers who have a harder time dealing with climbing hills (the city is mostly built around them). If you’re feeling more outdoorsy while there, and no one would blame you because of the pristine weather for most of the year, the Golden Gate Park is a gorgeous destination to catch a breather and take in the beautiful scenery of budding flower arrangements.
  1. Manhattan, New York City

In Manhattan, you should not miss out on the bus tours. While they might seem cliche, they’re affordable and can give you a great guided tour of the most important landmarks.

An NYC tour is bound to make you fall in love with the lifestyle there, and can open your eyes to new ways of living. Besides checking out the skylines and high rise buildings, make sure you take the time to explore various small eateries scattered around town and get a real taste of NYC.

Because of its popularity among tourists, NYC contains a thriving tourism friendly atmosphere that is complimented by multiple modes of transportation. So, you are never at a loss for things to do and places to see.
