All Aboard! – Chuggington Training Yard with Loop Playset Review and Giveaway!

My youngest is obsessed with all types of vehicles, from his extensive collection of over 300 die-cast cars to his box full of train tracks and engines, he loves anything that moves! Over the last year, he has become quite intrigued by the animated show Chuggington and can often be found singing the theme song throughout the house. So, when I was given the opportunity to review the Chuggington Die-cast Training Yard with Loop Playset, I knew it would be a great fit for our family!

{About the Show}

For those of you who may not be familiar with the show Chuggington, it is an animated TV show on PBS that follows the lives of three young trains as they learn valuable life lessons. Koko, Brewster, and Wilson interact with various other friends during each episode to learn new skills that they will need as they grow older. It is a fun and interactive show and I love that every episode has a lesson to be learned.

And our care, safety, feeding and soothing products provide you with solutions to day-to-day needs at mealtime, bedtime, at home and on-the-go.”

{My Experience}

Learning Curve has come out with an entire line of new Chuggington Die-cast Playsets, Engines and Accessories for children. We received the Chuggington Training Yard with Loop Playset and an additional Koko Engine to try out.

{Features}

This playset is unique in that it includes a motorized launcher that shoots the engine around the loop. Train engines easily snap together with an innovative ball snap system that I have no seem on any other train toys, and is far superior to the magnet method in my opinion. There are also several obstacles located around the playset that the engines must run through in order to get to the end and that adds a little more excitement to the track.

{Assembly}

There is some assembly required with this set, but no more so than other train track sets would require. The pieces snap together easily and for the most part, they stay together a lot better than the Imaginarium train set we have.

I would like to mention that the instructions that came with the set are a bit vague and it took my a while to understand that the numbers that the directions were referring to were located on the underside of the tracks pieces, so keep that in mind. There is also a battery panel that you must unscrew in order to install the batteries for the motorized launcher.

{Final Thoughts}

If you are looking for a toy that your child will thoroughly enjoy, then I would definitely recommend the Chuggington Training Yard with Loop Playset. Jase is 5 and he thought it was the neatest thing ever. When my 7 year old got home from school, they both shut themselves away in  the room and played with it for hours. They still play with it almost everyday as well.

There are some points that need to be mentioned though. The noise that the motorized launcher makes is really loud. It certainly is not a quiet toy, but if your child is able to play with it in a secluded room, then it is not too much of a distraction. Keep in mind though, that it does make a good bit of noise.

This is a video I shot of Jase enjoying the playset.

Other than the noise issue, it is easy for kids to operate on their own. They simply place the engine on the hook at the top, press the launcher button gently and then watch the engine take off. Jase never gets tired of setting the engine up again and again and even incorporates his other toys to make his own scenes and interactions.

{Buy It}

You can purchase the Chuggington Die-cast Playsets, Engines and Accessories from Toys ‘R Us both in the store and online and also at Amazon. The Training Yard with Loop Playset retails for $39.99 and the individual engines cost about $5.99.

*I received a Chuggington Trainyard with Loop Playset for the purpose of review, but was not compensated for this post in any other way. The thoughts, words and opinions expressed here are entirely my own and were not influenced by anyone else.
