Back to School Bash – Princess Linens Doodlebagz Review and Giveaway

Our very first Back to School Bash Review and Giveaway is from Princess Linens and is one of their customized Doodlebagz! These are great for preschool or even Kindergarten aged children and are the perfect grab and go activity for the car as well. I had the opportunity to review the denim Doodlebag for my youngest son Jase who will be entering preschool this year and he takes it everywhere.

{About the Company}
Princess Linens is a company that provides a wide range of personalized products for children and infants as well as beautiful boutique clothing from top brands. They carry an entire line of customizable Doodlebugz items that are from Crayola, including backpacks, lunch totes, Doodlebagz, crayon aprons, portfolios, crayon keepers and more. These items are great for back-to-school and ensure that your child will never forget which backpack or lunch bag is theirs.

The company also provides a beautiful inventory of boutique monogrammed baby clothes, john johns, jumpers, dresses and my first scrub sets. They also offer a wide range of personalized baby gifts that are perfect for showers and holidays.

{My Take}
In my opinion, Doodlebagz are a wonderful concept. The denim Doodlebag, which is the one we reviewed is made of washable fabric so there is no worry of stains. The front has a cute little pocket that has Velcro sides for easy access for little hands. The bag unzips all the way around to open flat and then is able to be zipped up again and has two handles for easy carrying.

Each Doodlebag comes with a pad of paper that hooks into a flap on the inside of the bag for stability while riding in the car. It also comes with a box of Crayola 24 ct. crayons, a box of Crayola chalk and a small eraser perfect for child’s hands. If you are worried about the “chalkboard” in the back of the bag breaking, don’t be. It is made of a sort of rubbery vinyl that the chalk can write on, but that will not break. The two flaps in the middle of the bag have special little slots were individuals crayons and chalk fit perfectly.
 My  youngest loved the Doodlebag he received and he was especially excited to see his name on the front. The embroidery was perfect and the green thread was a great choice for a boy’s name on the dark denim. He loves  to take the bag in the car, even if we are not going far and he will often sneak it into bed at night to try and get some nighttime coloring in. We fully intend to send it along with him to preschool and I am sure it will see lots of use there.

The only thing that I do not like does not have to do with the design of the Doodlebag and is just a matter of personal preference. I personally do not like how messy the chalk can be so we have replaced the chalk with mini colored pencils in our Doodlebag to make mommy a little happier. Like I said though, the fabric is washable so unless you are a neat freak like me, it is not a problem. One other little note, children may have to press a little harder to get the chalk to write on the chalkboard since it isn’t made of the traditional material, but I much prefer that over having breakable material in the bag.

{Buy It}

You can buy your own Doodlebagz for only $25.50 on the Princess Linens Website. They come in a variety of colors and can be personalized for both girls and boys. Also, be sure to check out the rest of their Crayola Doodlebugz products and boutique Back to School clothing!

{Win It}

Princess Linens has been kind enough to offer one lucky Back to School Bash winner a denim Doodlebag of their own, just like the one I reviewed. These are great for both boys and girls and are a $22.50 value.

* I received a denim Doodlebag for the purpose of this review, but was not compensated in any other way. The thoughts, opinions and words expressed here are entirely my own and were not influenced by anyone else.
