Doing the Shred Again – Send Paramedics and Buy Bleach

It’s no secret that pregnancy wreaks havoc on a body. I loved bringing the surro-baby into this world, but I don’t love the extra weight and flab that has come with it. Last year I did a round of the 30 Day Shred by Jillian Michaels and it just about killed me, but the results were amazing. So, I am back for more punishment progress. My friend Rhea who has been rocking the weight loss with the Paleo Diet lately is going to join me in this attempt to see who can pass out first finish the Shred, so be sure to go check out her site for regular updates too.

{How Will This Work?}

If you are not familiar with the 30 Day Shred, it is an exercise DVD by The Biggest Loser coach Jillian Michaels. You know, the one who looks insanely ripped and has no mercy? It has three levels and each one is supposed to be done for 10 days. Presumably 10 days in a row, but I generally have to take a day or two off after the first day because of the insane amount of soreness. So, mine is more like the 32 Day Shred. We’ll see.

I will do the Shred everyday, eat a diet of 1500 calories a day and will measure in here on the blog every Thursday. Because the Shred builds muscle and tones more than it actually sheds pounds, I will be doing measurements instead of weight. The hope is that by the end of the 30 days, you will a big difference. I will be including my calorie count from each day of the week to hold myself accountable and sharing sample eating plans too.

There will also be three photos shared, one halfway through the Shred, one at the end and you guessed it, one today. Shield your eyes, be kind and realize that I have always been on the bigger side and just gave birth to a baby about a month and a half ago. It can only get better right?   1. Good Luck!! I can't wait to hear how this goes and see the difference. Hubby and I have lost a combined weight of 150 lbs in the last year… needless to say with him being a man he has lost the 100 and me just the 50… I have another 40 or so to go then I will need something like this.

I tried the shred before and only did about a week before I gave up…I have been motivated to lose weight lately, but I am pregnant with baby #2 right now so that will have to wait until next year. As for right now I am just focusing on getting some form of exercise in everyday…even if it's just a little bit. Good luck with the Shred and I hope it works out for you! πŸ™‚

  10. I have that DVD…for like 3 years now. It's still in the shrink wrap lol I'm scared to do it, I might have a heart attack and die!
