This post is brought to you in collaboration with YesVideo, but all opinions are my own.
I love my family. I have three sisters and a brother, and they have children of their own. When we all get together, it is more than a mess, but we always have a blast. We were all just together for Thanksgiving, and I already can’t wait until next year so that I can see them again. Those memories are ones that I hold dear to my heart, and ones that I want to make sure to pass onto my children and their children as well.
My mom is in her 70’s, I was a surprise baby born when she was 43. My siblings are all older than me by at least 12 years. When I was young and everyone would get together, they would break out the old slides, and sit down for hours talking about how much fun they used to have together. I used to cry each and every time the slides came out. Why? Because I am not in any of them. See, the slides were before I was born. Now, I am thankful that we have those memories to share, so that I too can remember a past that I wasn’t necessarily part of, but that is so important to who I am.
That is how I feel about the memories I made before my children were born. The photos in this post are all from our family reunion in West Virginia last year. Many family members, my dad included, have passed on. When I was growing up, and when my oldest kids were little, VHS tapes were still being used in camcorders. Many of the memories that I have are on those types of tapes that have now become obsolete. So I need to find a way to preserve memories like those from past family reunions, so that I can pass on the memories to my children too.
That’s where YesVideo comes in. They can take your old VHS tapes, camcorder tapes, movie film roles and 35 mm slides, and transfer them onto DVD’s. How cool is that? All your old memories in a usable format. No need to worry about the safety of your videos or their content either. YesVideo has surveillance cameras at every stage of the process, and a digital copy of transferred videos is archived for security.
Want to order some home movie transfers for others as holiday gifts this year? You can place your order at the photo counters of Costco, Sam’s Club, Walmart or CVS. The process typically takes 3-4 weeks, and you can learn more about holiday video deadlines at YesVideo.com.
So, order today for yourself or your family, and help preserve memories for the future!
