Hero Fruit Spreadables Review and Gift Pack Giveaway

The boys got out of school last week and they usually each lunch at school everyday. Trying to figure out what I should feed them this summer that would be healthy and delicious has been a challenge. Luckily, Hero Fruit Spreadables came to the rescue in that department, offering a healthier and fun twist on an old favorite. Hero Fruit Spreadables are a new kind of gourmet, 100% natural seedless fruit spreads. We were sent a PB&J Party Pack to review and it was a huge hit with the boys.

{Our Take}

First of all, the PB&J Party idea was super fun. The sandwich shape cutters that came with the gift pack along with the balloons, streamers and four great Hero Fruit Spreadables flavors was a recipe for fun! I made one sandwich with each flavor and let the boys pass them around and share so they could find their favorites.

The jars come with great characters on them that makes boring old peanut butter and jelly a lot more interesting. Most the boys wanted to choose the flavor based on the character on the front. There are Toy Story, Dora, Cars and Spongebob jars. As for flavors, the Mixed Berry was the family favorite, followed by the Strawberry Red Currant. The Strawberry Banana is liked by some (not myself), but the Cherry Banana came in last. Only my youngest will eat that one. I think it is mainly because we are not big on banana flavors here, but they may be the perfect fit for other families.

Things I Love:

  • The healthy aspect of the product. I love that they don’t have any artificial colors, flavors and no high fructose corn syrup. The boys are hyper enough without help.
  • Fun characters on the label.
  • The spreads are seedless. This is really important to my picky smallest eater.
  • Glass jars. Call me old fashioned, but I love glass jars. These are even a fun shape and I am sure I will find a future use for them.
  • More fruit! There is more fruit per serving than other jams.

Things I Love Less:

  • They are only available at Super Target. This is a bit of a downfall for me. I really love these, but we don’t have a Super Target, so I won’t be able to buy more.
  • They are not as cheap as other brands. I think this is for good reason though and like other natural products, you pay a little more for less. Seeing how much my kids love them though and knowing how healthy they are, I definitely think the cost is worth it. 9.5 ounce jars are $2.49, so not really that expensive.

All in all, I have no qualms at all about recommending the Hero Fruit Spreadables line to anyone. They are delicious, nutritious and loved by children. What more can a mother ask for in a perfect summer lunch staple?
