Necessary Roughness USA Series Premiers June 29th ($100 Giveaway)

Those of you who know me know that I don’t watch much television. You also may know that I am not a fan of football at all. However, I am a strong woman making it mostly on my own and that makes two things that I have in common with Dr. Dani Santino from the new USA Network Series Necessary Roughness, which is slated to premier on Wednesday June 29th at 10/9c, right after Royal Pains.

{About Necessary Roughness}

Necessary Roughness is the latest original series from USA Network. No-nonsense therapist Dr. Dani Santino (Callie Thorne) was dealt a major blow when her husband packed his bags and left her with two teenagers to wrangle. In this never-before-seen footage, we see that blessings really do come in disguise – or in Dani’s case – in football uniforms. With a roster of unexpected new clients including unruly receiver Terrence King (Mehcad Brooks), Dani may have a chance to start over – but she’ll need to throw her playbook out the window.

{My Take}

When I was approached and asked if I would be interested in previewing a new USA series, I was a little skeptical. The last series to really draw and keep my attention was Drop Dead Diva and that had nothing to do with shrinks or football. However, I am glad I decided to give Necessary Roughness a try. It is fabulous!

I love that the lead character is a kick butt strong woman. There are not nearly enough of them portrayed on television and I think it is important to focus on showing women that they can be strong and fearless in the face of adversity and trials. I can really relate with the main character as someone who was left by the wayside by her husband and is left to pick up the pieces and move on.

The best thing about this show though, is that it offers something for everyone, and you likely will not have a hard time getting your husband or partner to watch it with you! I laughed, I cried and I will definitely be watching it every Wednesday night at 10!
