Just because we homeschool doesn’t mean we don’t have a morning routine. In fact, one of the first things I learned was that if I ever wanted to get anything accomplished as a homeschooling parent, I would need to have a routine in place that kept us on a schedule. That routine starts with a good breakfast, to get the boys’ brains going and ready to start the day. We recently tried the new El Monterey Breakfast Burritos, and they are our new quick and easy meal day for school mornings.
The boys homeschool schedule started back this week along with a lot of other students from around the country. We started with a project to recap what they learned on their summer trip. Before we could get started with that though, they needed to get something filling in their stomachs. I swear, these boys are human garbage disposals. If I don’t give them something that is going to stick to their ribs, they will be whining for food two seconds later, and we won’t get any work done.
So, this morning I set the table with all three flavors of the new El Monterey Breakfast Burritos. Available in Egg and Sausage, Bacon and Sausage and Jalapeno, egg and cheese flavors, these burritos are not only tasty, but they provide a protein packed meal to start your child’s day.
I was a little leary of the Jalapeno, egg and cheese burritos, but they ended up being a family favorite, and aren’t too spicy at all. We enjoy all three flavors of the burritos, and they really do keep the boys full for hours. With their stomachs full, I notice less restlessness, and more attention paid to the lessons I am trying to teach, which I definitely appreciate.
