Slow Cooker BBQ ribs

I love ribs, but I can’t grill. It turns out, that’s okay. The slow cooker makes amazing ribs. They will literally fall off the bone and melt in your mouth! This recipe will smell strong when you mix it up, but do not be alarmed. It turns out sweet tasting and is not sour at all, I promise. This freezer to crockpot meal is one you won’t want to miss. Give it a try and let me know what you think.

Ingredients:


3 lbs. Country style ribs
1/2 cup Your favorite BBQ sauce
1 cup ketchup
1/2 tsp. liquid smoke
1 tbls. salt
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white vinegar
Pepper to taste

Step 1: Dump the ribs in a freezer ziplock bag.

Step 2: Mix all remaining ingredients in a bowl and pour into the freezer bag.

Step 3: Freeze and defrost the meal in the fridge the night before serving. Cook in the crockpot on low for 6 hours. Serve with a baked potato and veggies.

  1. That sounds so good, my husband loves BBQ Ribs I think making them in a slow cooker would make them extra tender!

  2. Those look so yummy. We have some left over ribs from a sale in the freezer I may just have to have them for dinner tomorrow.

  3. I do a recipe with lemon juice, soy sauce and bay leaves too, you may try that mixture if you don't like BBQ sauce. You can also just cook plain ribs in the crockpot. You can add a little beef stock if you feel they will dry out.
