TASSIMO T20 Brewing System Review and Giveaway

To kick off the Happy New Year Blog Giveaway Bash, I have a review and giveaway of one of my favorite products from last year, the TASSIMO T20. At first I was not too excited about it. I got it mainly for Matt since I am not a coffee drinker and he is.

The problem is, that he would make a whole pot of coffee, but would only drink a cup or two each day and the rest would go to waste. I would never make hot tea or cocoa in the pot either because the aftertaste of the coffee was still there. The TASSIMO T20 changed my whole outlook on coffee/hot drink makers and I could not imagine our house without it now.

{About TASSIMO Brewing Systems}

“TASSIMO is not just another coffee maker. It’s a whole new way to prepare a variety of delicious hot drinks perfectly, in the comfort of your own home. And it’s so simple.

Each ingenious TASSIMO T DISC is designed to work exclusively with the TASSIMO system. T DISCs contains a precisely measured amount of coffee, tea, chocolate or concentrated milk creamer. The brewing happens inside the T DISC. Your beverage pours directly from the T DISC into the cup, so you can prepare different drinks one after another.

When you insert a T DISC, the brewer reads a unique bar code printed on the label. It then automatically calculates the amount of water needed, brewing time, and temperature to prepare the perfect beverage.”

{My Take}

Our well used new TASSIMO T20.

As you can see from the information above, this is one mighty little machine and so smart too. I mean, it is only one step away from replacing Rosie on the Jetsons! The fact that this little machine can read the barcode on each T DISC and then adjust the temperature, water and other settings accordingly one disc right after another just baffles me (in a good way of course).

 The T DISC with the bar code.

I also love how easy it all is. You just place the T DISC face down in the top, close the lid and the machine does the rest with the touch of a single button. No measuring, no messy coffee grounds all over the counter, floor and sink, just a simple system that allows me to make coffee for Matt, tea for myself or hot cocoa for the kids without messing it up.

The TASSIMO T20 is a really compact little model and is perfect for small spaces. It takes up hardly any room at all and comes with an adjustable cup stand. You can easily remove it to make a larger cup of coffee. Matt prefers to make a large cup, so he buys the Large Maxwell House Morning Blend T DISCs and fills up the whole cup from start to finish in under 3 minutes.

Here is a video I shot about operating the TASSIMO T20 and how long it takes to make a large cup.

The system is fairly quiet, much quieter than our old coffee maker and there is no mess involved. A slight splash from time to time that can easily be wiped away and throwing away the used T DISC are the only clean up this mighty machine requires. Another one of my favorite features is that you don’t have to put water in each time. There is a 1 liter tank on the back of the machine that holds the water until you are ready to use it and there is a built in water heater for faster brewing.

There is a huge variety of hot drinks and even iced coffee that you can make with the TASSIMO brewers. With over 40 different drink options, the possibilities are numerous and delicious. From brands like Maxwell House, Gevalia and Star Bucks, you are sure to find the perfect T DISCs to fit your needs and tastes.

{Buy It}

You can purchase the TASSIMO T20 brewing system in black or white and there are colored inserts as well. They can be purchased from the TASSIMO website for $129.99 or at retailers nationwide. T DISCs can also be conveniently purchased on their website, on Amazon or at retailers like Target who recently had a $2/1 coupon and 10% off sale.

*I received a TASSIMO T20 for the purpose of review, but was not compensated for this post in any other way. The thoughts, words and opinions expressed here are entirely my own and were not influenced by anyone else
