Want a healthy breakfast the says “I Love You?” These delicious and easy to make heart-shaped pancake skewers with strawberries and fresh whipped cream are the perfect addition to your Valentine’s Day morning meal. Heart-Shaped Pancake Skewers
8 oz Strawberries
1 cup Flour
2 tbsp Sugar
2 tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp Salt
1 beaten Egg
1 cup Milk
2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
2 tsp Sugar
Step 1: Wash your strawberries and hull them. This can easily be done by sticking a straw down the middle. This gives the strawberries a heart shape.
Step 2: Slice strawberries into heart-shaped slices and set aside.
Step 3: In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
Step 4: In a separate bowl whisk together milk, egg and oil.
Step 5: Add the wet ingredients to the dry and mix them until they’re smooth.
Step 6: Heat a lightly oiled griddle or pan over medium high heat. Pour 1/4 cup batter onto the griddle for each pancake. Brown on both sides.
Step 7: Use a heart shaped cookie cutter to cut out shapes.
Step 8: Whip cream and sugar until stiff peaks form, then transfer to piping bag.
Step 9: Alternate pancake slices and strawberry slices on a skewer. Top with additional strawberries and some fresh whipped cream. You can use cookie pop sticks instead if you are making these for little ones and want to avoid sharp points.
