Some of my best memories have been made in the kitchen, both as a parent and with my own parents. I have fond memories of my dad teaching me to cook, chili, spaghetti and meatloaf are among a few of the recipes I learned from him. My mom on the other hand instructed me in the art of baking, especially around the holidays. I can remember the house constantly filled with the smell of fresh baked cookies as she made batch after batch of so many different varieties, and sometimes, I got to help. I cherished those moments with her in the kitchen as a child, and still do as an adult. Now, I make even more memories in the kitchen with my own children.
The boys love to cook and especially bake. They are constantly begging to make cookies, and when I oblige, we always have a good time coating each other in flower and licking the spatulas and bowls clean. Country Crock understands these moments as a family and how very special they are. They understand that time spent in the kitchen is not just about baking, but about the values we can all share as a family. Values like patience, sharing and togetherness, values made even more important in a world ruled by technology and text speak.
That is the driving force behind Country Crock’s latest “So Much Good Happens When We Bake” campaign. As part of this campaign, Country Crock life surprise event in the NYC Tri-State area, where they surprised some moms just in time for Mother’s Day with some awesome 3-D printed cookie cutters based on their children’s designs so that they could create new personal memories in the kitchen. Check out the video below!
With the help of a friendly grocery store, Country Crock was able to share with unsuspecting families the good that happens, when we bake. All that was needed were a few colored pencils, the modern magic of a 3D printer, and the reminder that watching a child’s imagination come to life is one of the special joys of baking together. Don’t miss the original film in the #WhenWeBake series at WhenWeBake.com.
Country Crock sent my boys and I an incredible gift pack full of great quality baking items for the kitchen including Crate and Barrel mixing bowls, measuring cups, rolling pin and a coupon for a Country Crock product of our choice. I always buy the Country Crock with Calcium, besides being great for baking, it has only 1 point per tablespoon for Weight Watchers, which is important to me.
Also included in our gift basket was a 3-D printed camper cookie cutter that was based on a design idea that I can them. This means so much to us personally, as we prepare to head out on our #90DayRoadTrip. So, the boys and I got together a few nights ago and made camper shaped sugar cookies. We had a fantastic time, and made some terrific memories talking about all of the places we are soon to see and discover.
